Padilla Serie 1968 was the cigar that put Ernesto Padilla on the map. 1968 is significant to Padilla, the year Ernesto's father Heberto Padilla - renowned Cuban poet, cigar lover, and friend of Ernest Hemingway - was arrested and imprisoned for criticizing the Castro regime. The cigars are one of his finest, hailing from the Raices Cubanas factory in Honduras. 3 distinct Series 1968 varieties: Series '68, Series '68 Black Bear, and Series '68 Golden Bear.

Each chunky 12-cigar grip includes four each of the three different 1968 blends. All in 6x60 Doble Toro vitolas:

  • 4 x Padilla Series 68 Toro (6"x60)
  • 4 x Padilla Series 68 Black Bear Toro (6"x60)
  • 4 x Padilla Series 68 Golden Bear Toro (6"x60)

Series '68 Original: A Honduran-grown, Corojo-seed wrapper surrounds a bold mix of all-Honduran long-fillers. This recipe results in with a richly nuanced, bold palate bender with zero bite. A profile that's easy to enjoy but tough to pin down, as the flavors are complex and unique. Notes of coffee bean, leather, and cocoa with a hint of citrus on the finish.

Series '68 Black Bear: A thick, dark Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro wrapper secures Honduran long-fillers with a pleasant array of spices and sweetness. Chewy smokes delivers milk chocolate, nougat, and burnt toast. Medium to full.

Series '68 Golden Bear: lovely shade grown wrappers on the outside. Inside, a smooth concoction of aged Honduran long-fillers. Together these components create a easy smoking, subtle but stunning smoking experience. Sweet grass, graham cracker, and roasted nuts over a bready backbone. Medium.
