Good Smoke
Another sampler surprise ! This was a very nice stick . great ash, flavor , draw ! Try some if you like to experiment . Review by Ted on 3/14/2024My Favorite Cigar
I have been smoking cigars for over a year. I am not a connoisseur by any means but I do know what I like. I have tried many cigars in a year now and Free Will is my favorite. The Oliva O's is my second favorite but the Free Will's flavor profile is exactly what I like. The last 3rd of the cigar is something I look forward to and it is very tasty. I wish I could could tell you the taste profile like the pros but I just know that it is very good and I will always have these in my humidor. Review by Jared on 2/20/2024President
I am smoking one of the Toro Grandes right now. Excellent smoke by Oliva. I normally smoke Nicaraguans and this one is very good. Reminds me of the Master Blends 3 Olivas. Just ordered QTY 2 assorted size samplers for total of $60 for 20! Great deal while it lasts. Review by Mike G on 11/20/2023Free will box press
Notes of tangy carrot cake or raisin something.. deep darks. High quality matte capa (no reflection) very inviting profile. Corona charry and lacking sweetness. But box press is in league with Olivia Monticello."deeply satisfying" $30 sampler highly recommended. Loved the BP and robusto grande. Not the Gordo. Review by David on 11/19/2023Box press
I got one of these in a Olivia sampler. I am trying to open my palate from the mild cigars I have been smoking. This so far has been on of my favorites. Nice and full taste, but not too strong for me as a newby. I have never been able to pick out flavors, but I get the chocolate and coffee on this one, big time. I have never had a box press cigar either and really enjoy it! I am going to order more for sure. Review by Rob on 11/2/2023Free Will
Free Will 2 hours after mail delivery. 64 RH & 66 F outside, smooth cream taste with a hint of malted chocolate. Did I mention it’s smooth like a ladies bottom? Very slow burn. First inch took about 40 minutes. Second third is still smooth, but a hint of ash in the far back, almost like in a rear view mirror. This one's lights out for me. I still have 4 that I will rest for about 3 months. Review by Douglas on 10/30/2023Free will
This thing is awesome...finally can taste the brown sugar I've heard so much about...I will buy more. Review by Richard on 10/17/2023Yep!
First time I'd had the Master Blends or Free Will.
Glad I tried them. Cigar Page should be proud to have the Free Will!!! Would easily rate it a 92 or 93. Review by Chris on 10/16/2023Best with age
This cigar should spend some time in the humidor to show off its full potential. When it has reached maturity, it is quite complex. It is earthy, it has notes of coffee and leather, a touch of spice, and an underlying taste of brown sugar which lasts through the entire smoke and grows in intensity. It is a fascinating smoke which changes every time I try it.
That said, I hate the label. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it really needs to be aged for several months, depending on how “fresh” the cigar is. Review by Sam on 9/26/2023Delicious
Arrived today. Have smoked one so far so smooth. Also oddly love the label. Nice and even burn. Highly recommended! Review by Jared on 7/28/2023mind blowing
I'm a 40 year daily cigar smoker. Cigar Page working with Oliva has been a match made in heaven IMO. When the Free Will came out I ordered a bunch of samplers. I based my order on the copy written on their site. At first I thought it was just an okay cigar. After aging them for 3 to 6 months, they're a solid home run for sure. The level of different flavors in the cigar after just a bit of aging is kinda mind blowing....Cheers Review by bearpaw1486 on 7/14/2023Free Will
Visuals: Great looking medium to slightly dark brown/gold wrapper with a nice oily sheen.
Construction: Excellent, firm and uniform throughout, feels solid in the hand.
Pre-Light: The aroma from the cigar is amazing. Strong mix of barnyard, hay, leather, and some awesome floral hints. The draw is excellent, just right.
First Half: Starts with a big blast of flavors, pepper, leather, earthiness, coffee notes, dark chocolate, and hint of perfect sweetness. (Not too much, just perfect) This cigar puts out a huge volume of smoke, which is something I love in any cigar. Rollins method, pepper is an 8 for the first third. The burn on this one was off in the first third, but self corrected soon after the pic.
Second Half: Pepper backs off and everything else seems to come through better. The sweetness is unique, not like a Drew Infused, just natural tobacco sweetness. It blends in perfectly with all the other flavors.
Conclusion: I nubbed it. Medium plus bodied. Lots of great flavors. Burnt razor sharp to the nub after the wonky start which is unusual for FW cigars. The finish is long and pleasant. At no point was this harsh or bitter, just a well made cigar which obviously contains high quality, well aged tobacco. Review by HOG on 6/26/2023Best with some rest on it
Smoked my last one and it was the best one, at it's peak of flavor profile. Now I need another bundle to babysit lol. PERFECT with a Barrel aged or pastry stout. Review by Aaron on 6/3/2023Not a Bad Blend, But The Band is Cringe Worthy
I'm smoking the BP Toro. I've had it for about 2 months in my humidor bag. It's a good blend, smokes well and has a good taste..... It's not too strong, but has a strong punch to it. The band, FOR ME , is cringy because of the negative interactions I've had with people who wear the Punisher and flag insignia in a negative light... Review by Roast Beef on 5/3/2023Good smoke, lame artwork
I'm not exactly sure how the punisher got co-opted to people who talk about "freedom" and "police" and the american flag in the same breath, but they clearly never read the comics where Punisher was clearly against the idea that traditional law and order by the state was useless and corrupt...... That said, I can't argue with the quality of the smoke at this price.... lots of flavor and a med-high nicotine level. One star off because I will never buy the full box because I don't want the lame art. Review by Nicholas on 4/15/2023A little age'll do ya!
I gave this one 3 stars back in December ROTT. Smoked the BP yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I'd say at least 50% better flavors overall. These sticks do respond well to a few months age. I'm bumping them up to 4 stars with a little customer TLC. Review by m. on 4/7/2023Free Will
I've smoked a bunch of these. I think you guys knocked it out of the park with these. There's a lot of everything I love in this blend. With just a little down time, the natural sweetness from the tobaccos are just amazing. Don't get me wrong, this is not a sweet cigar by any means. It's a nice, almost bold blend that has just the right amount of sweet tobacco goodness to make the blend very unique. The wrapper leaf is gorgeous. At first the box pressed Toro kind of had a slight harshness to it, to my taste buds. A few months of down time and it's turned into a cigar I can't put down. Very well done Team CP and Oliva. Highly recommended. Review by Freedom!! on 3/14/2023Good cigar
I bought 6x60, easy draw and good burn. Not overly complex but not ever cigar has to be complex! I will buy more at this price Review by Ben on 2/27/2023"Good stuff here fellas"
Free Will... the bigger rings are great, the box pressed Toro needs some time…. Good stuff here fellas. I want more flavor more flavor, I don't need a cigar to kick my arse with nic. Review by BearPaw on 2/24/2023Packed with strength and flavor
Smooth smooth draw. Provided a lot of smoke, very dark oaky and earthy taste to it. Strong cigar. But enjoyable. Review by Armando on 2/20/2023Free Will will, can DO!
A delicious stick. Box pressed, perfect draw, semi complex, excellent burn. Cocoa and a bit of nuttiness with a nice dry leathery finish. What else can you ask for? And at CP's crazy low price it's a daily smoke for me. Man am I glad I found Cigar Page! Review by Carey on 1/26/2023Free Will
What a terrific tasting cigar!! I got the BP Toro Grande in a Tenski Assortment I got. The Free Will was the first of the 10 that I smoked. I enjoyed it so much that I immediately bought a Free Will 10 pack assortment! I hope they are just as good. Perfect draw, perfect burn...I'll figure out my favorite size, then I'll probably be buying a box! Great job from Cigarpage and Oliva. Review by Mike on 1/22/2023Double Toro = Double Flavor Bomb
This is my first Free Will cigar. It's a nice looking cigar with a darker wrapper than I expected. This wrapper even has some nice mottling on it. It has some moderate veining running through it and is capped well. The pre-light aroma on this one was pretty nill, which surprised me. The draw is great, as in just right. After lighting it, I was whacked in the face with of ton of delicious flavors. I got chocolate, lots of spicy pepper, and cedar. The start got my attention real quick, and the cigar never got boring tasting. This one smokes nice and slow yielding billowing clouds of thick smoke from each puff. The retrohale is so full of flavor and spice, this cigar is about as tasty as I've had in quite a while. About a third of the way in I taste a sweet vanilla cream like flavor on top of the others I mentioned. The flavors come together like Sonny and Cher singing I got you babe, you know, just tasty as can be. The burn is very even with a nice firm ash. Getting into the final third the intensity picks up in the now layered flavor profile and oh gosh, we have some nicotine to boot. I think the comment by JB says it just right, this reminds of the very very early stage Serie V only I think this Free Will is even a notch or two more flavorful. I went through those early V's like dollar bills at the slot machine. I'm being straight when I say, to me, these have more flavor than those early V's. Then again, it just might be my taste buds. When I got to the nub, this cigar was still performing and tasting like a world champion. High praise to the blender, and of course Oliva, who usually spins a high quality stick all the time. I'm only giving this 4 1/2 stars because these people in Nica are too stuck on the box pressed Toro's. I'd love a plain rolled Toro, but I guess that's not a possibility in this line. In a Toro size, I think this mighty tasty wrapper would shine even more. This is my first cigar of the day and it's just now 6AM here. It's going to be a fine day. Well done boys, well done. Review by John Bluez on 12/6/20223 stars
I started with a corona from a sampler pack that was pretty much plugged. Then I smoked a 5x50 and again a very tight, plugged draw. This was very disappointing. Next a 6x60, the draw was good. I'll start here... little complexity. Medium body. Pretty good burn and smoke production with no issues. Flavors were pretty unconventional, not in my wheelhouse for sure. The robusto and BP toro followed suit. Definitely no wow factor for my liking! IMHO, this stick could have used some Estelí Ligero to put it over the top. I've got another 5 pack sampler to burn through so if any changes I'll update. Review by m. on 12/5/2022Free Will
Gave this 4 stars due to the claim these are full strength, when they are milder. With that said; I have had these resting for a few weeks now and they smoke great. Nice draw, perfect burn, and nice thick grey ash. I am hoping these will age very nice in the humidor over the next couple months. Design on band is nice but the actual size is to big for my taste. Review by John on 11/26/2022Free your mind & the rest will follow!
After reading the description of this blend & it being hyped so much, like a good movie preview, I was worried the best parts were in the trailer. I was concerned at 1st because, prelight it smelled a little green & thought may need more aging. Those worries went away as soon as I sparked this puppy up. A pleasant buttered popcorn taste hit my palate in the beginning then switched to a sweetness reminiscent of a classic PA milk chocolate but, not intrusive, just a kiss of sugar both in flavor & aroma. Halfway through I realized this had a bit more body than I thought. Surprisingly smooth for the strength, it reminded me of early Serie V blends that got such high praise in the cigar community. The finish was sublime! Aromas of leather & earth that even had my girl complimenting this gem. Another hit from the fine folks at Oliva & Cigarpage! Can't wait to age some of these & revisit in a year or two. Review by JB from Easton, PA on 11/7/2022
