One trick ponyI'm possibly the biggest AJ fan alive. I've smoked over 20,000 of his cigars in the last 16 years or so. I was looking forward to trying these.
I smoked a Short Gordo today.
On the surface I was sure I was in for a great tasting cigar. The description on CP says all well aged Vintage Tobaccos.
It's a great looking cigar with a super dark San Andres wrapper.In typical AJF style, it's also very well made. The draw and burn were spot on. The problem I have with this cigar is simple. From the foot to the nub it's a straight up pepper bomb. Other than that it's devoid of any other flavors. I might have liked this 2 decades ago, but these days, I'm spoiled. I prefer a cigar with a lot of different flavors and nuances. TBH, I'm surprised this made it past AJFs final inspection process. The man is a master blender. I'm a fan of pretty much all the Diesel lines. This one however is total fail in my opinion. I never thought the day would come where I actually gave an AJF cigar a poor review, but here we are. As always, this is 100% subjective. I'm curious to read more reviews. I wish more CP customers would take 5 minutes and leave a review. They're very helpful in a general kind of way. Yes, I'm well aware that we all taste them differently. That said, it's still nice to read what other people think about a cigar. I digress, Cheers
