The Journey Continues--San Cristobal Revelation Toro
I've been trying "pretty wrapper" read-- vintage Cuban redux cigar bands with beautiful artwork, lately. The results have been mixed. I rested this box-pressed Toro for 3 months, dry-boxed it for 36 hours and smoked it in 90 minutes. So, the pre-light aroma was pleasant with a faint woody/nutty/slightly sweet. The pre-light draw was, largely, neutral with the faint woody/nutty aftertaste. The dark caramel wrapper was well-done with a few delicate veins. The initial light produced a good volume of smoke with an easy draw and defined cedar/nutty overtones of medium strength and this flavor remained for the first third. The second third continued with a nice burn line and easy draw while introducing white pepper to accent the woody overtones. The final third continued to increase in strength with the same flavor profiles however, in the final 1 1/2", a significant void appeared that required a major touch up. Despite it lacking differing flavor profiles, it was a simple, but good smoke. And, I'm not too concerned about the void since it didn't interfere with the lion share of the cigar and could easily be an anomaly. I have another Revelation (Robusto) that I will smoke for my final opinion that came with the great five-pack deal offered by Cigar Page. Finally, I'd like to mention that Cigar Page's marketing allows one to try new cigars to add to your collection ,outside of your long-term choices, in special deals and five-packs without breaking the bank.(Hey, I've said this before!) Another Banger
This cigar made for Ashton by my father factory. Typical sumatra notes but refined and full in body. I find myself reaching for this cigar when I want to envelop my palate with what I think a great cigar should taste like. 5 stars hands down.

The Revelation
I got two of these on the singles sale, one Mystic, and one Prophet, so this review is after smoking these two cigars. For me the Mystic was my preferred smoke. I had no issues with construction or burn on either cigar. I was able to smoke both cigars down to the nub. The cigar is a mild smoke but not very potent, a medium body at the best. For me the Revelation is an okay smoke but I much prefer the full body of the regular San Cristobal.
