Unbelievable
I've not tried two varieties of Fugazi and both of them punched so far above their price point, I was astounded. If you're looking for a $4 cigar that smokes like a $13 dollar cigar all day long, give these a try. I didn't even let mine sit. Smoked them 10 days off the truck and they were killer. Ordered 3 more varieties just today. Review by Eric on 12/31/2025Great cigar!!
I just revived and smoked one of these cigars and let me tell you this is a very well made cigar never smoked an opes x but I can only imagine if this is any where close I will just have these for the price I will be buying again. Review by Ivan on 10/15/2025Opus x
So far the Fugazi COTY - Fuente Opus PerfecxionX has everything I like in a medium body cigar. After a third in the aroma is great with pleasant sweet spicy notes of vanilla and nutmeg. Not a peppery cigar like some maduros I've tried. A very enjoyable experience. Review by Mark on 9/13/2025An overlooked cigar
I've tried several FUGAZI cigars. All good. The Opus is my favorite. Some of them have burn issues but for the money you can go wrong. The flavor and aroma is excellent. I have replaced many of the fancy label higher end cigars in my humidor with FUGAZI because the others don't compare to the quality of tobacco used in these cigars. They have become my go to cigar. I haven't smoked an Opus however really liked these. Good draw, no burn issues, flavor was good. Review by Joey on 11/3/20243.5 Chimps
Pre-light sniff and draw for me was dried fruit. The first couple of retros also had the dried fruit. This gives away to mostly cedar for the rest of the cigar. Light white pepper and a long salty finish. I had some burn issues where the binder on one side was burning faster than the wrapper. I got this resolved in the first 3-4” after futzing with it for 15 minutes. When I got down to the last 3.5 inches the problem returned on the same side of the cigar but I got it fixed much quicker. I’m going to blame this on myself. I stored this long cigar in the bottom of my humidor where it stayed. I will buy a 10 pack in the future and come back and place a new review. Picked this up as an 8 pack sampler, this is the 7x52 size.
Paired with Basil Hayden Toast.
In the first third, the cigar picks up some backing spice and cedar, with white pepper on the retrohale. About an inch in, a cashew sweetness emerges. The burn line is fairly straight, although the ash is loose and drops an inch in. The draw is just shy of perfect, and the cigar is smoking quickly, producing a lot of medium-bodied smoke.
As it transitions into the second third, the cigar remains well-balanced. The cedar flavor intensifies slightly, and a caramel sweetness is introduced, contributing to a medium creamy smoke texture. I'm really enjoying the flavors at this stage.
At the halfway point, the cigar becomes a flavor bomb, offering a silky smooth medium finish with notes of leather, cashew, and caramel sweetness on the palate. There's also a hint of white pepper on the retrohale.
Moving into the final third, I'm 45 minutes in. The retrohale starts to become spicier, with a bit more pepper, and coffee bean flavors make an appearance, extending the finish. A slight chemical flavor, common in budget cigars, emerges but isn't overwhelming, and the leather notes remain. Around a quarter inch from the band, the off flavor is noticeable but not enough to stop smoking. After removing the band and purging the cigar, the chemical notes disappear, leaving cedar, leather, and coffee bean as the dominant flavors. After a five-minute break, the chemical notes are gone, likely because I was smoking too quickly. The burn line remains perfect with no need for touch-ups, and the flavors are bold with cedar and coffee bean. I'm smoking this one to the nub.
This may not be an Opus, but it's impressive for a budget bundle cigar. Review by Allen on 7/3/20244 1/4 stars, here's why
Fugazi to the Opus X Double Corona from the 8 cigar COTY Sampler.
I solidly made cigar. Only a few very minor soft spots in the pre light squeeze test. Wrapper is a medium brown with some light veins. No oily sheen at all.
Pre light draw is excellent.
Spark it up and off we go. Right outta the gate a nice mix of baking spices and a decent level of white pepper. The draw and burn are both really nice all the way to the nub.
Flavors intensify as I get beyond the half way point. This is a solid medium bodied smoke that gets slightly fuller as I smoke it. Good balance on this Fugazi as well.
It's been years, make that a decade plus since I've ponied up for a real Opus. In my personal opinion, they're simply not worth the extra Jack for me.
I won't try to compare this to an Opus just because it's been too long. What I will say, when these are on Spesh in the 8 pack Samplers, I'll buy them every time. This is a real tasty and well made cigar. For that reason I'm giving it just under a 90. I really don't care for these numerical scores, but it's a little more accurate than just stars, imo. Highly recommend. I've had smaller sizes of these Fugazi Opus. While equally as tasty, I encountered thin wrappers which liked to crack. This wrapper is much nicer and super hearty . These are a must try in my book. Da Page has Da Deals Review by Johnny Bluz on 12/3/2023Nice For the Price
Of course you are not going to get an Opus X for well under 5 dollars. It is a good facsimile. I have smoked about 15 different Class 34 and 10 different Fugazi all good so I bought the robusto. Full body with lots of cedar and earth. Construction burn and draw all good. Stays cool and smooth. It really comes very close at a fraction of the price. And free shipping. Subscribe to text and email to keep up on new items and special offers. Try this and other Fugazi they are all good. Review by Phoenix Cigar Smoker on 12/1/2023Tasted of Cloves and Licorice
This was from the sample pack. The thing smokes like a champ. The construction was fine up until about the halfway mark when it started have burn issues. There was a bit of a long concave part of it that might've caused the issue. Oddly enough I was getting notes of clove, licorice, star anise, and a after taste of sulphur. It's not going to compare to the real deal opus, but for the price it is. Would've scored higher but the aftertaste and burn issues. Review by Tank on 11/16/2023Compare to Fuente Opus PerfecxionX
This would've been a perfect 5, but it wasn't the best draw I've had before AND it doesn't have a cool band But otherwise, this cigar was very good. Solid construction out the cello; firm with no visible imperfections; overall very clean looking cigar. Was very easy to light evenly, and after the first drag, I knew it was going to be a good smoke. On the third drag, I actually tasted coffee (didn't taste coffee any time after that - but that was exciting). Burned evenly throughout, and held a solid ash. I managed to keep about 1.5" ash at any given moment before the wind decided to punch it off every time. I've really enjoyed the Robusto vitola, but I might actually be drawn to the Toro's more after this one. Really enjoyed smoking this one, and I enjoyed seeing the cherry light evenly after every drag. It reminded me of coloring within the lines with coloring pencils, oddly enough lol The first third was VERY pleasant, and the second half got noticeably stronger. Even more so during the last third, but there wasn't a traditional bitterness to the smoke as I felt the heat get closer with the nub. The retro on the first third was pleasant as well, whereas the retro got 'harsher' thereafter. Looking forward to trying the rest of the pack after letting them rest for even longer (and possibly get them drier). I'd definitely buy another pack, and I'm excited to try some of the other Fugazi's for the killer price point. Review by ShooterSway on 8/25/2023Fugazi “Compare to Opus X
Damn! Lit up a Fugazi “Compare to Opus X” and it certainly smoked better then I was expecting. Very happy with how this blend came out. Great easy morning smoke. Flavor was in the same ballpark - cedary, leathery, earthy, spice…. Was just what I wanted to be, especially for the price point. Review by Justin on 6/26/2023
