E.P. Carrillo delivers the goods. Owner Ernesto Perez Carrillo has forgotten more about cigar making than most know. He sold his well-known La Gloria Cubana brand 10 years ago and then launched E.P. Carrillo in 2010. And he’s done it all over again, patiently building another empire by crafting winner after winner, and E.P. Carrillo Sumatra is no different. Nicaraguan and Dominican long-fillers contained by 2 binders; one from Nicaragua and the other from Honduras. Everything is wrapped in an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper creating a cigar with notes of wood and earth. There is also a hint of spice that only helps the complexity of the entire experience. It is medium bodied, so it will not overwhelm beginners or underwhelm seasoned aficionados.
